Nature Conservancy seeks cover crop farmers for pilot project


DEFIANCE — The Nature Conservancy is looking for farmers who are currently utilizing cover crops on their farms in the Maumee River watershed who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences with other farmers in their area. Selected farmers will be compensated for their time.

Producers who are interested in being part of the farmer-led outreach project and would like to apply as a Farmer Advocate for Conservation may contact Stephanie Singer online at Stephanie.Singer@tnc.org or by phone at 419-782-0652.

The application window for the first round of advocate selection is open until the end of July. The top 20 candidates will be notified of their acceptance as Farmer Advocates for Conservation in the fall when they will be given a complete schedule of training sessions to being in January of 2021.
