Shawnee Township home damaged in Saturday morning fire

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — An early Saturday morning house fire in Shawnee Township that caused an estimated $50,000 in damage remains under investigation.

Firefighters were called at 12:06 a.m. to 2975 S. Dixie Highway in response to a home fire and found the rear of the structure engulfed in flames, according to a spokesman for the Shawnee Fire Department. No one was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported.

The origin of the fire is as yet undetermined.

The home is owned by Megan Miller, according to the Allen County auditor’s website.
