Lima man cuts throat while resisting arrest Saturday

LIMA — A Lima man who was wanted by Lima police for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor is in a Columbus hospital after injuring himself around 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police located Jeremy Kindle inside the residence, surveilled his movements inside and confronted him when he left the house at 2650 Steven Drive.

When confronted by police, Kindle assaulted an officer and went inside the home and retrieved a cordless circular saw and cut his throat. Lima police deployed a taser to stop him, and police quickly came to his aid and summoned emergency help.

He was taken to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center and then flown to OSU Hospital in Columbus, where his condition is unknown.
