LIMA — Six Jefferson Award winners were honored at the mayor’s press conference Wednesday, May 20, in a condensed version of the Jefferson Awards banquet held annually.
The banquet originally scheduled had been canceled due to the state’s coronavirus precautions on mass gatherings.
“This year, we’re limited to basically acknowledging folks in a public way and saying thank you,” Mayor David Berger said. “And that’s what we’re here to do this morning.”
Those honored Wednesday included Andy Maravola, Kallie Kitchen, Taylor Paul, Richard Bowe Sr., Barb Coil, Kim and Kandi Graham.
Berger said the city will continue to honor the rest of 2020’s Jefferson Award winners during the city’s press conference over the next two weeks to round out the rest of this year’s 12 winners.
