Multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 snarls traffic near Middle Point


MIDDLE POINT — A five-vehicle crash on U.S. 30 near Middle Point on Friday afternoon led to lane restrictions and slow-downs, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Lt. Jonathon Gray, commander of the Van Wert patrol post, issued a statement shortly before 3 p.m. Friday of an injury accident on U.S. 30 near the intersection of Middle Point-Wetzel Road, and a subsequent related crash near state Route 66 in Van Wert County.

Traffic was restricted to one lane in areas of the multiple crashes on the eastbound side of the roadway, and motorists were advised to proceed with caution through the area.
