Michigan woman with lead foot charged by state troopers

ALLEN COUNTY — A Michigan woman, who led state troopers and Allen County Sheriff’s deputies on a high-speed chase on May 1 in Allen County faces third-degree felony charges for her actions.

The driver, Mary Ann Pallito-Warnick, 51, of Newport, Michigan, was southbound on Interstate 75 near Bluffton going at speeds near 100 mph.

She passed a state trooper, and the trooper started to chase her. She then increased her speed to more than 140 mph.

Tire deflation devices were used to stop the woman just north of state Route 81, where she was taken into custody.
