ArtSpace/Lima is concerned with the ongoing preventative measures that are currently being asked of everyone. Being creative is essential and art is an integral part of this community, so ArtSpace is offering a free creative pursuit for all as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation.
Wednesday, May 6th, ArtSpace/Lima will be giving a creative journal as the project for the TO-GO art bags. The journal is for creative writing and can be embellished with drawings, decorative paper, stickers, and stamps, that will be included in the bag.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and ArtSpace is partnering with Coleman Professional Services and The Mental Health Board to offer extras in each bag for writing creative prompts, as well as information of local services in our community. Creative journaling reduces stress, keeps memory sharp, boosts mood, and strengthens emotional functions. The Mental Health Board has experienced an increased need in our community during this time, and our partnership is creating tools for positive, healthy activities.
ArtSpace is encouraging people to stay in their cars and drive through Cherry Alley to the back door of ArtSpace. Bags will be handed out to individuals in their vehicles. Cherry Alley can be entered from High Street and exited onto Market Street. They will be available starting at 12:00 noon.
