MARION TOWNSHIP – The Ohio State Highway Patrol Lima Post is investigating an apparent hit-and-run incident that killed a 52-year-old Lima man early Thursday morning.

Troopers discovered the body of Richard P. Lee, 52, of Lima, in the westbound lanes of U.S. 30 near Redd Road around 3:05 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release from the Lima Post.

Lee, whose vehicle was found parked on the side of Redd Road, was pronounced dead by the Allen County Coroner’s Office due to injuries he sustained after being struck by a vehicle, according to a press release.

Investigators believe a light blue semi-tractor may have been involved in the incident, but it is unclear why Lee was outside his vehicle, according to the press release.

Lee’s death is still under investigation. Anyone with information should contact the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lima Post at 419-228-2421.
