ArtSpace/Lima is concerned with the ongoing preventative measures that are currently being asked of everyone. Being creative is essential and art is an integral part of this community, so ArtSpace is offering a free creative pursuit for all as we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation.
Wednesday, April 8th, ArtSpace/Lima will have ‘Chalk the Walk’ as their Wednesday TO-GO Art Bags. The national “Chalk the Walk” event has become an artistic beacon of hope for artists to offer encouragement and help find happiness during a time of crisis. Artists can enjoy the endless ‘canvas’ of concrete when playgrounds and parks are all closed off. The art bags will have sample ideas and words to use, as well as pictures and ideas about where to place messages. ArtSpace will also include a set of large, multi-colored sidewalk chalk to create the designs.
The pick-up location has changed. ArtSpace is encouraging people to stay in their cars and drive through Cherry Alley to the back door of ArtSpace. Bags will be handed out to people in their vehicles. Cherry Alley can be entered from High Street and exited on to Market Street. They will be available starting at 12:00 noon.
In this time of social distancing, it makes us feel closer to those around us when we see messages of art, knowing there was fun in creating. ArtSpace encourages pictures of the creative work to be sent firstname.lastname@example.org for future publication.
