LIMA — A Lima man was robbed at gunpoint late Monday as he attempted to make a sale that was negotiated via Facebook.
Police were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to 755 St. Johns Avenue in response to the incident. Raymond Keeton, 20, of Lima, told officers he was contacted via Facebook by a subject he only knew by a nickname.
The suspect said he wished to buy Keeton’s cell phone for cash, and the Lima man made arrangements to meet in a parking on St. Johns Avenue. Keeton said the assailant approached him, grabbed the phone from his hand and pointed a handgun at him.
The suspect then fled westbound toward South Main Street.
