VAN WERT —The Van Wert County Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts are participating in the Scouting For Food project to collect food items for the Cooperative Ministries Food Pantry. The items are distributed to help support individuals and families that are going through difficult times.
Food items needed include soups, vegetables and meats in cans, cereals, oatmeal, noodles, macaroni, jars of baby food, crackers, baking items, pastas and sauce. Non-perishable items needed include dish soap, laundry soap, paper towels and shampoo.
The Scouts will place door hangers asking for support at homes on March 7 and will return March 14 to collect the bags. Residents are asked to bag items to be collected. Scouting For Food bags should be placed on the front porch or steps by 9 a.m. March 14. Missed items or donations may be taken to the First United Methodist Church at Jefferson Street and Central Avenue in Van Wert.
