LIMA — For much of the afternoon Tuesday, several north-south routes in Lima were blocked by a train that derailed on the Chicago, Fort Wayne and Eastern Railroad tracks.
Lima police said the derailment caused crossings from Jameson Avenue to Main Street to be closed to traffic.
Parts of Delphos Avenue were also closed to allow equipment to be brought in to help clean up the damage.
“There was a portable derail in the tracks and the engine ran over it,” said Nathan Howell, supervisor for the train company.
None of the cars turned over — only the engine was affected.
No one was hurt.
