LIMA — A 47-year-old Lima man with a previous conviction of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor was arrested Friday on an identical charge in Hamilton County.
Douglas Shurelds, a Tier 1 sex offender following his conviction in Allen County Common Pleas Court in 2018, was arrested by Montgomery police for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl in Hamilton County.
He was sentenced by Judge David Cheney, who has since retired, to three years on probation and 120 days in the county jail on the third-degree felony.
Shurelds posted a $100,000 bond following his arrest, according to the court documents.
According to the grand jury indictment from Shureld’s arrest in Allen County, Shurelds “did engage in sexual conduct with another person … when the offender did know the other person was 13 years of age or older but less than 16 years of age.”
