LIMA — Allen County and Putnam County each canceled their Level 1 roadway advisories after Wednesday night’s wintry mix of snow, rain and sleet left some roads slippery. Most area schools decided to delay the start of classes or close altogether.
Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia lifted the roadway advisory at 4:49 a.m. Thursday. He warned some roads may still be snow or ice covered, so caution was necessary. The roadway advisory had been in effect since 7:33 p.m. Wednesday.
Putnam County was under a Level 1 advisory until 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Sheriff Brian Siefker issued that advisory at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Hancock County has been under a Level 1 since 8:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sheriff Michael Heldman announced.
Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon doesn’t issue roadway advisories.
Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart warned that roads were slick due to a sleet and ice mixture.
