COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced that more than $2 million in grant funding has been awarded to support local law enforcement in their work to disrupt the drug trade in Ohio and enhance their role in substance use awareness, prevention, and recovery.
Among the recipients was the METRICH Drug Task Force, a decentralized task force which services 10 counties in north central Ohio, including Hardin County. The grant funding, totaling $240,640.74, will go toward equipment for enforcement operations conducted in its 10-county region, the creation of new quick-response teams and expanding teams currently at work in their region.
A 10-county billboard and radio awareness campaign will also be developed.
