BELLEFONTAINE — The Logan County Art League will offer an “If I Can Do It, So Can You” skillet batik workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Art League studio located at Union Station, 613 Hamilton Ave., Bellefontaine.
The cost is $75 and includes all supplies. Only 10 applicants will be accepted, so registration is due by Feb. 1. Forms are available are Craft Paper Scissors, the LCAL bulletin board or online at logancountyartleague.org.

The Logan County Art League is offering an “If I Can Do It, So Can You” Skillet Batik workshop on February 8, 2020, 9 am-3 pm with a lunch break from noon to 1pm. The workshop will be at the Art League studio located at Union Station, 613 Hamilton Avenue, Bellefontaine (the old Southeastern Elementary School). C. Forrest (Woody) Amidon, will be the instructor.
What is a batik? It is a method (from Java) that uses wax as a resist and dyes to create brightly colored paintings with a crackled effect. In this workshop your batik painting will be created on rice paper using melted wax and acrylic paint and then adhered to a canvas. Two paintings will be completed in the workshop. This is a fun and easygoing workshop that is geared toward beginners or artists that want to explore a new media.
