Applications open for farmland easement program

LIMA — The West Central Ohio Land Conservancy announced that it will be accepting applications for its agricultural easement purchase program from landowners in Allen County.

Landowners may voluntarily sell easements on their farm to the state of Ohio if the farm remains permanently in agricultural production, according to a press release for the program. Farms must be larger than 40 acres, actively engaged in farming, enrolled in an agricultural district and participate in the Current Agricultural Use Valuation program, in addition to having the support of local government. Properties should also be a reasonable distance from development.

Interested landowners should call 567-204-9126 or email for more information.
