Website petition drive established to keep man behind bars

DELPHOS — A website has been established to allow citizens of the Delphos and Van Wert area to add their names to a petition aimed at convincing the Ohio Adult Parole Authority to keep a convicted murderer behind bars.

Robin Bender, 65, was convicted in 1974 for the murders in July that year of Louis and Kenneth Youngpeter during a home robbery on Gerdeman Road just west of Delphos. Kenneth Youngpeter’s wife, Judy, was seriously injured in the incident.

Bender is currently serving a life sentence at the Madison Correctional Institution. His case is scheduled for be heard by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority in February.
