Donations pour in for family in Perry Township fire

PERRY TOWNSHIP — A GoFundMe page has been established on Facebook for two Perry Township family members who perished in an early-morning fire Thursday at 4601 McPheron Road, Lima.

Donations to help defray funeral expenses for Heather Money and her daughter, Destiney, may be made online at j.mp/2QQmSlV.

There has been no official identification of the victims’ names from either the Allen County Coroner’s Office or the Ohio Fire Marshal’s office. Brian Bohnart, public information officer for the Ohio Fire Marshal’s office, said in an email Monday that the state agency has no update at the current time about the origin or cause of the fatal fire.

As of Monday afternoon, the GoFundMe page had received more than $6,600 in donations from 19 individuals.

“Any assistance with a donation could provide this family a small amount of relief in what is a devastating time. God bless, and thank you in advance for your sympathy and generosity for members of this community,” wrote the page’s host, Evan David, of Harrod.
