WAPAKONETA — The Hardin County OSU Extension small grains management workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, in the downstairs room of the Auglaize County Administration Building, 209 S. Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta.
There is a $10 cost to attend and lunch will be provided. RSVP by Jan. 2 by contacting the Auglaize County Extension office at 419-739-6580.
Join OSU Extension as we present a hands-on, intensive small grains management workshop for Ohio crop producers. This workshop will help you become a more profitable small grain producer and will feature a range of winter wheat and barley management topics, including cultural practices, insect and disease management, and soil fertility.
The agenda includes On-farm Grain Storage, Curtis Young, Van Wert County Extension Educator; Wheat and Barley Management, Laura Lindsey, OSU Extension Small Grains Specialist; Nitrogen Management, Ed Lentz, Hancock County Extension Educator; Insect Management, Andy Michel, OSU Extension Field Crop Entomologist; Disease Management, Pierce Paul, OSU Extension Field Crop Pathologist; and Local Information, Jeff Stachler, Auglaize County Extension Educator.
Each participant will receive a copy of the Ohio Agronomy Guide; Corn, Soybean, Wheat, and Alfalfa Field Guide; Management of Winter Malting Barley Guide; and the Weed Control Guide.
