RV driver leads OSP on multi-county chase

LIMA — A pursuit that began in Toledo ended near Lima Tuesday night.

According to the Bowling Green post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at 10:49 p.m. Tuesday, Toledo police were in pursuit of a 2000 Hurricane RV, which was occupied by a subject with a felony warrant.

The Perrysburg Township Police Department then picked up the pursuit, traveling south on Interstate 75 but could not get the driver to stop.

Troopers from the Bowling Green post took over the pursuit, which covered 62 miles through Wood, Hancock and Allen counties.

The chase ended after troopers from the Lima post used stop sticks to cause one of the tires to deflate.

The driver of the RV pulled over around the 125-mile marker and surrendered after a brief standoff.

Larry D. Keith Jr., 38, of Maryville, Tennessee, faces charges of failure to comply and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

He’s being held in the Wood County Justice Center.
