Crime Victim Services to hold ‘Credit Check Wednesday’

LIMA — Local financial institutions will help consumers access a free version of their credit report on Wednesday to help spot identity theft, a concern after major holiday shopping days such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Consumers should check their credit report periodically throughout the year for false information. Free credit reports are available through Experian, Transunion and Equifax, which each offer one free report per consumer per year.

Citizens National Bank, First Federal Bank, First National Bank and The Union Bank Company will assist consumers with accessing free credit reports on Wednesday.

Participating locations include Citizens National Bank in Bluffton, Lima and Elida; First Federal Bank in Delphos, Elida, Glandorf, Lima Allentown Road, Lima Shawnee and Ottawa; First National Bank in Ottawa and Pandora; and Union Bank in Columbus Grove, Delphos, Kalida, Lima Bellefontaine Ave., Lima Elida Road, Lima Shawnee, Leipsic and Ottawa.

Free reports may also be obtained online at annualcreditreport.com or by calling 1-877-322-8228.
