UAW ratifies deal with General Dynamics

LIMA — The United Auto Workers union and General Dynamics Land Systems have ratified a new four-year agreement covering workers at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center in Lima and sister facilities in Sterling Heights, Michigan and Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Fifty-eight percent of UAW members from the three facilities voted Saturday to ratify the contract, which the UAW says includes job protections, wage gains and other benefits, after a previous version of the agreement failed in a ratification vote earlier this month.

But only 35.5% of UAW members with the Local 2075 union in Lima voted to ratify the contract Saturday, and the union has yet to approve a local contract for non-economic concerns between Local 2075 members and GDLS.
