Three area residents suffer minor injuries in Monday crash

LIMA — Two Elida residents and a Lima woman suffered minor injuries in a two-car traffic accident Monday at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Thayer Road, near Lima.

According to a report from the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. Monday when Richard Edwards, 75, of Millersburg, operating a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Thayer Road, failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Kamie Joseph, 24, of Elida, who was westbound on U.S. 30. Edwards’s vehicle struck Joseph’s and came to finally rest in the roadway, while Joseph’s vehicle came to its final rest in the median.

Joseph and her daughter, Mila, were transported to a Lima hospital by Beaverdam Richland EMS with minor injuries. A passenger in Joseph’s vehicle, Mary Pulford, 56, of Lima was transported by Bath Township EMS for minor injuries.

Edwards claimed no injuries.

All occupants involved in the crash were reportedly wearing seat belts, except Pulford, who was a rear-seat passenger.
