Threat to Delphos Jefferson school found not credible

DELPHOS — Police were on hand at Delphos Jefferson Middle School on Thursday after law enforcement officials were alerted via social media late Wednesday to the possibility of a student committing an act of violence at the school.

The potential threat was discovered by the FBI, which in turn notified Delphos police.

According to Doug Westrick, superintendent of Delphos City Schools, the threat was found to be not credible following an investigation by administrators and police. There will be a police presence in the middle school Thursday, though.

Westrick said school officials will have no further comment as the incident is still under investigation.
