The Full Sound Chamber Group will perform at St. Rose Catholic Church, 523 North West Street (West at McKibben), Lima, for the 4 pm Mass on Saturday, November 16. Prelude music will begin at approximately 3:45 pm.
The family-based group from Logan County has formed a string quintet of two violins, a viola, cello, and double-bass.
In addition to providing a much more versatile ensemble, the addition of the double bass creates a richer and deeper sound. Additionally, most musicians in the quintet can also play the piano, which enables the group to perform music composed for almost any combination of strings and piano. Full Sound Chamber Group’s repertoire includes music from the 1700s to 1900s, as well as hymns.
St. Rose was established in 1856, making it the oldest parish in the Lima area. St. Rose and St. John the Evangelist Parish, South Main Street, Lima, are served by Father David M. Ross, pastor. All are welcome to attend Saturday’s Mass.
