Putnam County Common Pleas Court

Oct. 31

A resolution of the board of the Putnam County Commissioners was granted which increased the compensation rates for jurors to $15 for half a day and $30 for a full day effective Jan. 1, 2020.

The board of the Putnam County Commissioners received a request from Putnam County common pleas judges Michael A. Borer and Keith H. Schierloh, for an increase in the hourly rate of indigent public defenders to the current state fee schedule of $75 per hour for both in-court and out-of-court services. The resolution was granted effective Jan. 1, 2020.

Tyler T. Vogt, 21, 423 Appian Ave., Napoleon, was sentenced to 30 months in prison for possession of drugs (Methamphetamines). He was given credit for one day served. He was also ordered to serve 11 months in prison for aggravated possession of drugs (Methamphetamines), to be served concurrent. He was given credit for one day served and any additional time while awaiting transfer. A charge of trafficking in drugs (Adderall) was dismissed.

Nov. 1

Tyler L. Lee, 22, 1160 Westerly Drive, Apt. C, Lima, was sentenced to 36 months in prison for possession of a Fentanyl-related compound. He was placed on three years post release control.

Nov. 2

James C. Berger, 29, 68 Main St., West Leipsic, pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was revoked pending sentencing scheduled for 3 p.m. Dec. 16. Two other counts were dismissed.

Nov. 4

David J. Cole, 48, 409 W. Main St., Leipsic, pleaded guilty to escape. He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. Bond was revoked and he was remanded while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 8:30 a.m. Dec. 11.

Cole was an inmate in the Putnam County Jail when he walked away from his work release job Sept. 17. According to Putnam County Sheriff reports, Cole failed to report back to the jail after his shift at Raw Steel in Leipsic. Cole was located Sept. 22 and was taken back into custody.

Rogelio L. Pardo, 38, 226 W. Third St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to aggravated possession of drugs (Methamphetamines). He faces up to 12 months in prison and $2,500 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to domestic violence. He faces up to 180 days jail for that charge. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2. Another charge of aggravated possession of drugs was dismissed.

US Bank National Association, Owensboro, Ky., was granted a foreclosure judgment against Jeffrey A. Whitehurst, Cape Coral, Fla., and Mary J. Whitehurst, Cape Coral, Fla., in the amount of $70,564.44, plus interest and costs.

Nov. 5

Andrew J. Vasquez, 29, 3721 Road K3, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to theft of a credit card. He faces up to 12 months and $1,500 in fines. The state is recommending Vasquez pays $250 restitution and have no contact with the victim. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 3 p.m. Dec. 2.

Nov. 7

Santiago Aguilar, Leipsic, was granted a divorce from Maria L. Aguilar, Corpus Christi, Texas. They were married July 2, 2009 in Putnam County and have no children.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

Oct. 31

Shirley J. Wiggins, 65, 18435 Road 7Q, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to theft. Sentence: 180 days jail, suspended, $150 fine.

Gunner J. Spence, 24, 22927 Garfield St., St. Clair Shores, Mich., pleaded guilty to drug possession. Sentence: $150 fine.

Nov. 5

Simon C. Maag, 37, 12423 Road 11, Ottawa, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of persistent disorderly conduct. Sentence: 30 days jail, 28 days suspended, $250 fine and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center.

Nov. 6

James M. Phillips, 39, 5624 Home Lane, Toledo, charged with aggravated robbery, a felony, bound over to common pleas court.

Nov. 7

Jamar N. Burns, 27, 111 Pearl St., Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to aggravated menacing. Sentence: 180 days jail, 60 days suspended, $50 fine and no contact with victim for two years.

Steven S. Siler, 27, 714 Basinger Road, Pandora, domestic violence

Joshua S. Muter, 34, 314 E. Fourth St., Ottawa, pleaded guilty to theft. Sentence: 180 days jail, 170 days suspended, $50 fine.

Steven D. Rose, 42, 181 W. Canal St., Ottoville, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass. Sentence: 30 days jail, 28 days suspended, $250 fine and not be present at Millers Lunch, Columbus Grove, for one year. A charge of driving under suspension child support was dismissed.

Dawn M. Bahner, 51, 24495 W. Second St., Grand Rapids, pleaded no contest to OVI and was found guilty. Sentence: Six points, 180 days jail, 177 days suspended, $750 fine, $375 suspended, one-year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP and complete drug and alcohol assessment. A charge of improper lane usage was dismissed.

Griffin Baiter, 18, 212 E. Center St., Leipsic, pleaded no contest to reckless operation and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $500 fine, $250 suspended.
