CELINA — International Christian pop duo For King & Country will headline the 2020 Mercer County Fair’s Christian concert.
The Australian pop artists, known for their chart-topping hits “God Only Knows” and “joy.”, will be joined by motivational speaker Terrence Talley at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
This will be the third contemporary Christian music concert held at the Mercer County Fair, joining past CCM headliners Newsboys and Crowder.
“We’re hoping to be able to pull folks to our fair who may not typically come or may not be from our area,” said Cara Muhlenkamp, manager of the Mercer County Fair. “Hopefully they’ll like it so much that they’ll continue to come back.”
Muhlenkamp said the CCM concerts typically draw audiences of 3,500, similar to that of the fair’s popular country music concerts, which often come close to selling out with 3,800.
