Larsen announces bid for Jordan’s seat

LIMA — Mike Larsen, a former congressional staffer and retired television writer, has announced his run for representative for Ohio’s Congressional 4th District, a position currently held by Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana.

“Strengthening healthcare, ending stupid trade wars that decimate our farmers and addressing our planet’s climate crisis for future generations are crucially important tasks that our current congressman is ignoring,” Larsen stated in a press release. “We don’t send representatives to Washington to engage in toxic partisanship and pointless grandstanding for cable news, yet that is all I see Jim Jordan doing.”

Larsen has written for a number of television shows in the past with credits on “Reba,” “The Drew Carey Show” and HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” By 2008, Larsen had entered politics and served as Rep. Jackie Speier communications director.

In 2018, Larsen consulted on the campaign of Jordan’s four-time challenger, Janet Garrett, and was responsible for the creation of the video series featuring a stylized puppet-version of Jordan.
