LIMA — A shooting southwest of downtown Lima on Wednesday evening left one man dead and police looking for suspects.

According to a statement from the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in response to a shooting at 635 S. Metcalf St., Lima.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found Jermaine Ingram, 47, inside the residence, suffering from gunshot wounds. Ingram was transported to Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, where attempts to save his life were unsuccessful.

No one else was injured during the incident, according to police. The shooting remains under investigation as detectives are follow up on leads.

Ingram’s death was the sixth homicide in Allen County in 2019.
