KENTON — Hardin County sheriff’s deputies have arrested four people, and charges are pending against another related to several recent burglaries in the county.

On Thursday, Hardin County dispatchers received a report of two suspicious males in the area of county Roads 179 and 144. While investigating the report, deputies learned of a forced entry at a nearby property. An abandoned vehicle was located in the neighborhood, and later that morning the sheriff’s office received another call concerning suspicious males walking in the area of county Roads 179 and 140.

Deputies located the males who, after being questioned, were transported to the Multi County Correctional Center in Marion on charges of burglary. Charges are also pending against a woman who was determined to have accompanied them and who is reported to be a suspect in incidents in Marion and Morrow counties, as well as the one in Hardin County.

Also on Thursday, deputies also located and stopped a car in the vicinity of county Roads 209 and 190 that was suspected in several burglaries in the area. The car, which had also been reported as stolen, was occupied by a man and woman from Marion County. Both had outstanding warrants from Marion County.

A subsequent search of the car resulted in the seizure of property and evidence from a residential burglary that had occurred nearby earlier in the day. Both subjects were arrested and additional charges related to the burglary are pending. Both were transported to the Multi County Correctional Center.
