Diseased deer tracking help needed in NW Ohio

FINDLAY — Officials are asking hunters to submit samples of harvested deer to be tested for Chronic Wasting Disease.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife reports the disease has not been found in Ohio, but it has affected deer in Michigan. Hunters in Lucas, Fulton and Williams counties are encouraged to submit samples so the disease can be tracked. Testing within those counties is free; there is a small fee for tests submitted outside those counties.

For details on testing, call 614-728-6220.
