Lima man wanted in Florida apprehended by LPD officers

LIMA — Lima police on Saturday apprehended a man wanted by authorities in Florida on charges of pre-meditated homicide and aggravated assault.

Police officials had received information regarding the whereabouts of Lima resident Darrell White, 30, who was wanted in Florida and was considered a fugitive from justice.

Officers from the Lima Police Department located White in the area of Wayne and Elizabeth streets. The man fled from officers, but after a brief foot pursuit was taken into custody without further incident. He was found to be in possession of a firearm at the time of the incident.

White was later transported to a local hospital for treatment for an injury sustained during the foot pursuit. He was charged with suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business and resisting arrest in addition to the Florida charges.
