LIMA — The Lima Rotary Club will meet at noon Monday, Oct. 21, at Veterans Memorial Civic Center, 7 Town Square, Lima.
Oct. 24 is World Polio Day and Dr. Susan Hubbell will talk about polio and Rotary’s effort to eradicate the disease.
World Polio Day is October 24. The main mission of Rotary International is the eradication
of polio. Since Rotary began its fight against polio in 1979, Rotary and its partners have helped
immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases
by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won’t stop until we end the disease for good.
At the Lima Rotary Club on Monday, October 21, Dr. Susan Hubbell will talk about polio and Rotary’s
effort to eradicate this cripling disease. We will also be bringing our Polio Pig to the meeting to collect
loose change donations, and we will have pledge cards on the tables to allow members to make more
substantial donations to the effort.
