Maria Stein Shrine to host speaker Sister Joyce Ann Zimmerman

MARIA STEIN — Sister Joyce Ann Zimmerman will speak at 10 a.m. Oct. 15 and 24 at the Maria Stein Shrine of the Holy Relics, 2291 St. Johns Road, Maria Stein.

The first session will be held at 10am on Tuesday, October 15th in the Shrine’s Gathering Space. It will explore how the Roman Calendar/Church Year unfolds, what the various ranks of festival require in terms of liturgical celebrations, and what makes “Ordinary Time” so very extraordinary.

The second session will be held on Thursday, October 24th at 10am, same location, and will address the festal season we will begin to celebrating soon: Advent/Christmas/Epiphany. The session will consider themes for each aspect of the cycle, how they related, and offer suggestions for how we might keep this Season in our homes and personal prayer.

For more than 50 years, Dayton, Ohio Precious Blood Sister Joyce Ann Zimmerman has belonged to a Congregation of women religious founded for Eucharistic adoration. She is the founding director of the Institute for Liturgical Ministry in Dayton, Ohio; an adjunct professor of liturgy; and a frequent facilitator of workshops on liturgy. She has published numerous scholarly and pastoral liturgical books and articles.
