Wednesday morning traffic crash near Cridersville leaves 5 injured


CRIDERSVILLE — Five people were injured as the result of a Wednesday morning traffic crash near Cridersville.

According to the Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 7:30 a.m. on National Road at the intersection of Wapak-Cridersville Road.

The report indicates a vehicle driven by Daniel Huebner, 18, was northbound on Wapak-Cridersville Road and failed to stop at the intersection of National Road, striking a vehicle driven by Jay Herbst, 39, of Wapakoneta.

Both drivers were injured, as were three occupants of the Huebner vehicle. A 17-year-old male from Wapakoneta, whose name was not released, was transported via Life Flight helicopter from Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center to OSU-Wexner in Columbus with non-life threatening injuries. The other individuals were treated at St. Rita’s for non-life threatening injuries.
