COLUMBUS — Ohio Sen. Matt Huffman, R-Lima, recently introduced a Senate Joint Resolution asking for a constitutional convention aimed at reining in “out-of-control federal government.”

Three-quarters of the 50 states must ratify the resolution for it to become law.

The three topics listed for a possible constitutional convention include fiscal restraints, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government and term limits for Congress members, federal judges, including Supreme Court justices and managers of federal agencies.

So far, 15 states have passed the resolution.
