LIMA — The Allen County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating three black males who are suspects in the late-night armed robbery of a Lima cab driver.

According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched at 12:16 a.m. Friday to the 1800 block of East Elm Street, Lima, in reference to a robbery complaint. The alleged victim, a driver for Black & White Cab Company, told deputies he was responding to a pickup request at a residence in the area. Once he arrived at the location, the driver said, he was approached by three black males, each of whom pointed a handgun at him.

The driver said the suspects entered his vehicle and stole his wallet and mobile phone before fleeing. The victim was not injured, and the subjects have not been apprehended, according to the sheriff’s office.

One male was taken into custody for unrelated warrants at a nearby location, but the investigation is ongoing, and that individual has not been charged as a suspect in the robbery.

Anyone with information related to the crime is asked to contact Det. Don Geiger at 419-227-3535 or Crime Stoppers 419-229-STOP (7867).
