LIMA — Two Lima men are in custody after allegedly robbing an Auglaize County woman at gunpoint after they’d arranged to purchase items from her over an internet site, according to a press release from the Lima Police Department.
Kirk Brenneman, 18, and Jason Sledge, 20, both of Lima, were arrested and charged with suspicion of aggravated robbery, according to Det. Steve Stechschulte, of the Lima Police Department. They’re being held at the Allen County Jail.
At 8 p.m. Thursday, the 25-year-old Auglaize County woman arrived at the apartments located at 760 E. 4th St., Lima, to complete the sale of a video gaming system and cellular phone she’d arranged on LetGo.com. She’d received directions to the apartment complex by someone posing as an interested customer.
When she arrived at the complex, two men got into her vehicle and used a gun to take the gaming system and cellular phone. The two men then fled into the apartment building,
The woman fled the scene unharmed and contacted police.
Second- and third-shift patrol officers and Lima Police Department detectives investigated the incident. Just before 2 a.m., they located Brenneman and Sledge and arrested them inside one of the apartment buildings. They also recovered the gaming system and a firearm believed to be used during the robbery.
