OHIO CITY — The Ohio City Volunteer Fire Department on Thursday was presented with a $30,000 check from the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Medical Services as part of a state EMS supplemental grant program.

The program supports the purchase of several different types of equipment and training, including 12-lead heart monitors, power stretchers, personnel training and CPR assisting devices. This is the third year for the supplemental funds grant, which was created to assist Ohio EMS agencies with the purchase of costly equipment and training of EMS personnel.
