BMV to close Wapakoneta driver exam station

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta’s driver examination station will be one of 13 offices closed by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles by Sept. 1 in order to increase the state agency’s efficiencies.

“In an effort to streamline processes, optimize resources, offset costs and improve customer service, the BMV is implementing a multi-faceted overhaul to optimize operations within its Driver Examination section,” BMV spokeswoman Lindsey Bohrer said.

Tests given at such stations will be moved to nearby deputy registrar agencies with increased hours to optimize the agency’s resources.

The 12 other offices scheduled for closure are located in Cambridge, Bryan, Tiffin, Sidney, Marysville, Urbana, Circleville, Mount Vernon, Ashland, Chardon, Carrolton and Gallipolis.
