Stolen items recovered in apartment of Ada man suspected of counterfeiting

ADA — Several stolen items believed to have been purchased by an Ada man already jailed on counterfeiting charges were recovered during the execution of a search warrant on Tuesday. Officers from the Ada Police Department, Kenton Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant at the apartment of Deyond White at 102 N. Main St., Ada, in connection with an ongoing investigation. Officers seized more than $6,000 in stolen items that included couches, bedroom furniture, television, jewelry, clothing and other items. The items that were purchased through stolen identities and credit card fraud, according to a statement issued by the Ada police. White is being housed at the multi-county jail in Marion on charges of possession of $50,000 in counterfeit money. He will now face multiple counts of theft, identity theft and credit card fraud. “This arrest is particularly satisfying as the crime of identity theft can be very difficult to resolve,” said Ada Chief Michael Harnishfeger.
