CELINA — Ron Heindel, of Celina, brought his 1972 Dodge Charger to the Westgate Charity Car Show in June.
“I bought it brand new in 1972,” Heindel said.
He had it for five or six years, and then his dad bought it.
“I was getting married,” Heindel said. “It’s always been in our family the whole time.”
The Dodge Charger was a mid-size car produced by Dodge starting in 1966. The fastback design caught the public’s attention.
“I just liked the style, and it was my first new car,” Heindel said. “I had something different than everybody else.”
Heindel’s car features a four barrel 400 motor with a four-speed transmission.
The car was restored two and a half years ago.
“All I do is drive to car shows,” Heindel said.
