Mercer County man extradited from Florida for probation violation

CELINA — A man convicted in Mercer County of attempted felonious assault has been returned from Florida after leaving the area without notifying his probation officer.

Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey reports that Skyler D. Leugers, 28, was extradited earlier this week from Lee County, Florida, on a felony warrant for a probation violation.

Two deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office flew to Florida and transported Leugers back to the Mercer County jail. The warrant for Leugers was issued after he absconded from Ohio and did not notify his probation officer of where he was living.

After being brought back to jail in Mercer County, Leugers was served with an arrest warrant from the Celina Police Department for failure to appear for traffic offenses and the Coldwater Mayor’s Court for similar charges.

He is awaiting a court date in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
