WAPAKONETA — The body of a 42-year-old Wapakoneta man was found early Friday near railroad tracks in downtown Wapakoneta. Police believe the man was struck by a passing train.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday, the Wapakoneta Police Department received a call of a male lying near the railroad tracks near Auglaize Street. Officers responded to the scene and found the body of a male identified as Kevin Ridenour, 42, of Wapakoneta. Police said he was found with injuries consistent with having been struck by a train.
Auglaize County Coroner Dr. Thomas Freytag was contacted, and an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing but added foul play is not suspected.
