WAPAKONETA — Michelle L. Wilcox, director of the Auglaize County Board of Elections, will be designated as a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA) during a ceremony later this month in Florida.
The designation achieved only through a multi-year course of study taught by the Auburn University MPA faculty in Alabama and conducted by the Election Center’s Professional Education Program. The intent of the program is to professionalize the management of voter registration and elections administration in promoting and preserving public trust in the democratic process.
“This is the highest designation available to elections and voter registration officials,” said Tim Mattice, director of the Center. “Auglaize County is fortunate to have Michelle Wilcox as one of the top designated professionals in America.”
Wilcox was appointed director to the Board of Elections in August of 2013. In addition to being CERA Nationally Certified, Wilcox also received her Ohio Registered Election Official Certification in January.
