6 injured in Monday morning crash near Lima

BATH TOWNSHIP — Six persons suffered injuries, none of which were reported as life-threatening, in a two-vehicle traffic accident east of Lima at approximately 9:15 a.m. Monday.

According to a report by the Lima post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Jordan Kennedy, 17, of Harrod, was eastbound on Reservoir Road and failed to stop at the intersection of Thayer Road. Kennedy’s vehicle struck a Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Michelle Thomas, 44, of Harrod, which was northbound on Thayer Road.

Thomas was trapped inside her vehicle, which came to rest on its top, and had to be extricated by emergency crews.

Thomas sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the Memorial Health System by Bath EMS.

Kennedy and four juvenile passengers in his vehicle were transported to medical care by family members.

Safety belts were utilized by all occupants, which reportedly minimized injuries. Distracted and impaired driving is not a factor in this crash, which remains under investigation.

The patrol was assisted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, Bath Township Fire Department, Bath Township EMS, Miller Auto Towing and A&D Towing.
