COLUMBUS — Allen County second-grader Blake Acheson was a state-level winner in the annual Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness poster contest.
As the top second-grade finisher, Acheson will receive a $50 savings bond, NOAA weather radios, smoke detectors and a letter of congratulation from Gov. Mike DeWine. Hanna Boehm, a fifth-grader from Union County, w as recognized as the overall state winner.
The goal of the contest is to educate Ohioans about actions they can take to protect themselves and others during severe weather events.
