Electrical problem leads to Lima house fire

LIMA — A two-alarm fire brought Lima firefighters to extinguish a blaze at 745 Richie Ave.

According to the Lima Fire Department, they got the call at 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

When they arrived, they found moderate to heavy smoke coming from the second floor and attic and fire coming from the kitchen area.

After further investigation, they determined the cause was an electrical problem where the stove was plugged into the outlet.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Damage to the home and contents is listed at $15,000.
