Sidney motorcyclist suffers injuries in Tuesday morning crash


SIDNEY — An Anna motorcyclist suffered serious injuries early Tuesday when he was ejected from his bike after striking another vehicle.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call at approximately 5:47 a.m. Tuesday in reference to a traffic accident involving a car and a motorcycle on Shelby County Road 25A at the Interstate 75 overpass.

Preliminary investigation shows a Chevy Malibu driven by Carlie Watkins, 19, of Minster, was northbound on county Road 25A and attempted to turn left onto the southbound ramp to I-75 when her vehicle was struck by a motorcycle operated by Christopher Knouff, 50, of Anna, which was southbound on 25A.

Knouff was ejected from the motorcycle and suffered serious injuries, according to the report.

The incident remains under investigation.
